Home Entertainment Center Furniture

A home entertainment center is a major piece of furniture and can hold many major electronic items, such as a television set, a VCR and/or DVD player, stereo components such as an AM/FM tuner, multi-disc compact disc changer, record player, and cable or satellite television receivers. The home entertainment center can be a welcome addition to your family room or home theater. The key point of your home entertainment center is of course the TV. Functionally, a home entertainment center is an organization tool. So Home entertainment centers serve the dual purpose of optimizing space utility and providing room for all electronic equipment to be kept together

Today’s home entertainment systems are every bit as good in quality and sound as the movie theatres, plus they are getting better and even cheaper as technology continues to advance. In fact, with today’s home entertainment centers, watching a DVD at home with your surround sound system is a very enjoyable experience. If your idea of relaxation or recreation is watching TV, listening to music, reading books, or browsing the net to your heart’s content, then a perfect home entertainment center is an answer to match your lifestyle.

These are excellent contemporary furniture sets that will make your big screen shine and provide space for your home entertainment center accessories as well. Home entertainment center furniture such as seating, television stands and home theater equipment rack or cabinet are essential items in a home theater. It is very important to make sure that all of your home theater furniture matches the decor and design of your room

The bookcases and television cabinets can be configured into a wide variety of entertainment settings. TV entertainment cabinets, though a relatively new concept, are fast gaining popularity so much so that a TV cabinet is now the primary cabinet for any home entertainment center. The size of the cabinet you choose will depend upon the size of the TV. If you choose to buy a closed-door entertainment center, you can choose between glass doors or wooden doors for your cabinets. If your TV operates with a remote control it is better to opt for a glass door TV cabinet, otherwise the remote will not be effective. Then again, you must keep in mind that the design of the TV cabinet is such that heat should not collect because it can ruin the sensitive circuits on the microchips of the components.

These cabinets will help you proudly display your equipment, hide your cables and connectors, all in an attractive piece of furniture that complements your decor and matches your style. Home theater furniture will add a great deal of style and functionality to your home theater system. Make sure to allow sufficient dollars in your overall home theater budget in order to meet the needs for furniture. A well-designed, functional and beautiful entertainment center brings your television and other media equipment into its rightful place as an important part of your living space.

We are sure you will find just what you need for your home theater enjoyment, so choose your new home theater furniture here today in www.newfurniturecenter.com [http://www.newfurniturecenter.com]

Entertainment Agencies – The Way to Avoid a Ruined Event

The Good, The Bad And The Indifferent (Entertainment)

Sounds like the title of a spaghetti western, and to be honest, it probably, over the years has had as many casualties. So what am I talking about? The answer is bad entertainment.

I think most of us can relate to either a personal experience or the experience of a friend, to how the focal point of an event ruined it. The entertainment at an event is probably the most crucial part, if you don’t include inviting the guests, and when it goes wrong everyone notices. Just the other day I was in a conversation and was told about how a DJ failed to turn up at an event, that event being a wedding, and how despite repeated phone calls no one could contact the party involved (this was a privately booked entertainment). This basically ruined what should have been the best day of two peoples lives, a real shame as everything else had gone so smoothly. This is something not just confined to private events, it can also effect corporate ones too. Imagine planning a corporate event, your colleagues will be there, perhaps someone high up within the company is flying in from abroad, or you are trying to make a good impression on future clients and seal a deal worth a lot of money. Everything is in place, or so you think, then out of the blue… nothing, no entertainment. Panic sets in, but in the end there is little you can do, it is too late. Of course the entertainment can arrive, but still let you down. A band in jeans and T shirts at a black tie corporate event, the wrong music, there are so many aspects that to list them all would become boring for those of you reading this.

So what is the solution you ask? The best solution is to use an entertainment agency. Allow me to explain. At one time all UK entertainment agencies had to be licensed, which is no longer the case, however all entertainment agencies are required to comply with the employment agencies act and it’s amendments. This gives you, the client, legal recourse, which you can exercise if, need be. Some entertainment agencies are members of professional bodies such as The Agents Association Of Great Britain or the NEAC (National Entertainment Agents Council ), if they are then these should be your first point of contact if you have a problem, which you cannot resolve. Both organisations have a code of conduct for members and also have a disciplinary process available. If an agency is not a member of either, and the complaint is serious enough, then you can make a complaint to the DBERR, formally the DTI, who have powers to act against and impose severe sanctions on rogue agencies.

I am sure there are people reading this who are saying to themselves, is this just a plug to get business, the answer is no. Although I run an entertainment agency, I am not saying that everyone should use our services, people should and do have a choice. I am saying make sure you use a reputable entertainment agency, of which there are many. So what can you expect from a reputable entertainment agency, the first is a high level of service, professional people to source entertainment to your needs. The second, if something goes wrong, a reputable agency will do its best to put it right. Third, legally binding contracts between the parties involved.(Make sure you read any terms and conditions before signing)

Now I am sure there are some people saying, I have a contract for my DJ/Band, he/they sent me one, or I always use an agency and have a contract. My question to those people is “IS IT LEGAL”? Just because you have a contract it does not mean that it is legal or that in a dispute it will hold up in court. Always make sure that any contract you have complies with the law. If in doubt always ask the person issuing it, or take independent legal advice. The good news is that a legal contract is everybody’s safeguard, and it will detail all the requirements, so you can rest easy knowing that everything is covered.

So in conclusion, to make your event memorable for all the right reasons:

Always use a reputable agency, to avoid the bad or the indifferent, and just enjoy the good.

Good luck with your next event.

Entertainment Agencies – The Best Way to Find and Book Entertainment

Most people have had or been to an event or party at which they had entertainment. How did the organiser find it? Was it any good? The answer to the first question is they probably used their local telephone directory, the Internet or had seen the act or service personally. The answer to the second question is sometimes yes and sometimes no.

So why use an entertainment agency to find what you are looking for? Well first it takes the hit and miss out of finding what you are looking for, a good entertainment agency has access to lots of different forms of entertainment and will save you the problem of locating it. Secondly a good entertainment agency lives on its reputation, so it is in their interest to make sure that the entertainment they supply is of good quality. As the saying goes, you are only as good as your last event. Imagine you are looking for a band, you can spend ages searching the net only to find that what you want is already booked, and searching can take hours, and do you have that time to spare? If you use the phone to contact entertainers and lets say contact 10 at an average of 3 minutes a call, that is 30 minutes of calls on your telephone bill, it may not seem much but it adds up especially if the contact number is a mobile one. And if you do manage to find what you are looking for how do you know it will be any good? Contacting a reputable entertainment agency takes away all the headaches, as they will do all the work for you.

There are things to bear in mind, a reputable agency has quality acts and services which will be in high demand, so make sure you start looking at least 3 months in advance of an event, don’t leave it until the last minute. Only contact one agency, many top quality agencies work with each other to source your needs, contacting 3 or 4 of them means they are duplicating work, time which could be spent on another client. If you were that other client ask yourself how you would feel, if the agency you were using had lost time they could have been using to help you. Running an entertainment agency we often used to get enquiries from people and start looking for their requirements only to have another agency contact us looking for the same thing for the same person. Nowadays we ask if any other agency is being used and if they are we polity refuse to waste time looking for the same thing, if we are told no other agency is involved and find out otherwise then we will drop the client. Many quality agencies act likewise, so you could find yourself back at square one or using a less than reputable entertainment agency.

The next question many people ask is how much will it cost, the answer is nothing unless you cancel, then you may have to pay a cancellation fee. An entertainment agency makes its money in the form of commission from the acts it represents, in other words they pay us for finding them the work. If you cancel the agency makes no commission, which pays for its time and effort on your behalf, therefore most agencies will make a cancellation charge, after all they have staff to pay just like any business. Similarly you might also have to pay a cancellation charge to an act or service in addition to the agency charge, if you have booked them then they are unable to take on other work for the date in question.

The other question is how long will it take? This can vary, many acts and services are registered with numerous agencies and don’t always keep them informed of availability, secondly each act will charge a fee depending on the factors of the event such as getting to it, possible overnight accommodation etc, so a reputable agency will make contact with them to find if they are available and at what cost. If an act or service is on holiday or working away it may take a while for them to get back to the agency, so allow for this. If you haven’t heard anything from an agency within 3 days then give them a call and ask for an update. A good agency will always tell you if they cannot find what you are looking for or if they have been unsuccessful. If that is the case then you can try another. Remember that with an agency you will get a contract, which will state all the relevant details, and you will have a legal document to give you peace of mind.

Remember entertainment agencies live to provide clients with a service, make use of it and save your time and a possible headache.

How to Promote Yourself As a Party Entertainer

If you are looking for work as a professional entertainer you are probably wondering what you can do to get noticed.

Some entertainers have ‘it’ some just don’t… but why are a few of the really bad ones get work regularly and other genuinely talented artists are scraping together a living?

I run an entertainment agency called Totally Talented, from my experiences the answer is very simple. Some people advertise (for free) in the right places and some are getting it all wrong!

Here is a list of popular methods of self promotion

  • Word if mouth or circles
  • Advertising
  • Entertainment agencies like Totally talented
  • Charity work
  • The web and your own website

If you don’t have a large promotion budget here are some free or very cheap methods

Word if mouth or circles

The number one way to get regular streams of work is word of mouth, every time you have a gig think of the potential of getting all their friends, associates etc. If you are a children’s entertainer ask the parents to recommend you to their friends.. before you know it you could be the number one entertainer in that school. Make sure you give out business cards or flyers at the end of the event.

Advertising

Targeted advertising can give you the start you need to break into the lucrative world of entertainment. Word of mouth is the number one form of free advertising but there are other ways, they just need you to invest some time and effort. Send out some flyers, put a card up in your local news agency or advertise in the local press. Newspaper advertising starts from as little as £25 and can cost up to several thousands. Whatever you choose to spend make sure it is targeted, that’s why the local press is the most effective. If your a musician consider advertising in press related to music not just random places. Think about your add too make sure it is worded well and gives all the right information.

Entertainment agencies

There are numerous entertainment agencies that will find work for you. Some of them charge money for their services and some of them are free. Search the net for the free ones. Totally Talented is free to signup.

Charity work

If you have some free time, why not do some voluntary work? Not only will you get the opportunity to show off your talents and get potential future work but also that satisfaction of helping a needy cause. Just don’t forget to give out your business cards at the end!

The web and your own website

The web is a very powerful tool for self promotion – use it! There are countless sites where you can advertise your services for free. For example YouTube, Gumtree, blogs and Totally Talented. Totally Talented gives you a personal space where you can upload videos, sound clips and pictures – the next best thing to a personal recommendation! If you were looking for an entertainer, you would want a recommendation or to see them for yourself first, that’s why uploading videos to the web is one of the most effective things you can do.

There are lots of free ways to get yourself noticed just remember to try. See what works for you and don’t be afraid to self promote.

An Introduction to Event Entertainment

Planning an event can be frustrating and exhausting. The number of decisions that you need to make is only outstripped by the flood of details you need to manage. Invitations, seating arrangements, catering details and decorations are only a few of the items that must be dealt with well in advance of your event. One of the most important components is your event entertainment. Most types of events require some form of performance to amuse (or even distract) the attendees. Below, you’ll discover the types of events that need entertainers as well as the types of entertainment that are available.

What Kinds Of Events Need Entertainment?

Practically every type of event can benefit from having some form of entertainment. Not only will it allow your guests to enjoy themselves more fully, it can also make your event memorable. For example, you may host a birthday party for your child. Hiring a clown to entertain the children can be a great way to captivate the children while the adults enjoy their own conversations.

On the other hand, you may be in charge of planning a corporate event that will draw top executives in your industry. In this case, hiring event entertainment can may include a live band, impersonators, or professional speakers. Whether you’re planning a wedding, a dinner party, retirement celebration, or industry show, hiring entertainers for the event can give the occasion an extra boost of distinction.

Popular Types Of Entertainment

There are many different types of event entertainment. Your choice will largely depend on the type of event you’re planning and your audience. One of the most popular types is live music. Few people dislike music. The key is selecting the proper music for your attendees. You can also hire comedians or impersonators for your event. Like music, most people enjoy humor as long as it’s matched properly to the audience. Another option is to hire 1 or more performers. These can include hypnotists, jugglers, dancers and even magicians. If you’re hosting an industry show, consider hiring a professional speaker. That person can address industry concerns or deliver a motivational speech to inspire your audience.

Considerations When Hiring The Talent

The key to hiring talent for your event entertainment is to understand the type of event you’re planning and the audience you hope to attract. An older crowd will likely enjoy different forms of entertainment than a younger crowd. Some events are naturally compatible with professional speakers while other events are better served with live music. Once you have decided on the type of entertainer to hire, work with them closely to ensure they deliver the performance you know your guests will enjoy.
